Lighthouse Vision

We are a family of believers committed to shining Yeshua’s light from our neighborhoods to the nations (John 8:12; 17:3; Matthew 28:18-20).

Lighthouse mission objectives

1. We are committed to strengthening and protecting our local congregation.

2. We are committed to birthing and planting locally autonomous Messianic congregations.

3. We are committed to strengthening and protecting other locally autonomous congregations.

4. We are committed to uniting locally autonomous Messianic congregations.

All of the above mission objectives require the five-fold ministry functions (Ephesians 4:11-13) operating in unity to accomplish these well. We believe these and other ministry functions are called to equip the Believers for the work of ministry.

Lifeboats

1. Our congregation has small community groups called Lifeboats which meet after most services and presently twice per month in homes in place of the normal Sabbath service at Mayflower. These are missional groups made up of 4-12 regular adults. These groups are the building blocks of the local community. Community life is funneled down and out through the close relationships found in these groups.

2. Lighthouse Lifeboats are meant to be smaller and limited in size and designed to not get bigger than 12 active adult members — at which time we will multiple and start a new Lifeboat.

Why do we call them Lifeboats? The main reasons are these:

1. Lifeboats are crucial in times of danger, and by using this term we indicate the challenging times we sail through and the importance we as a congregation place on being a part of these groups.

2. Lighthouse Lifeboats are meant to be smaller and limited in size and designed to not get bigger than 12 active adult attenders — at which time we will start a new Lifeboat.

3. There is spiritual protection and camaraderie for those who are in these Lighthouse Lifeboats.

4. Lighthouse Lifeboats are designed to ‘rescue’ others who are not yet connected to God and to draw them into biblical community.

5. Lighthouse Lifeboats are mobile and flexible — intended to more easily move together on Kingdom missions.

Lighthouse Lifeboats are designed to join together regularly and to corporately fellowship and interact with principles that the elders believer are important for the community to assimilate. These groups are intended to ‘do life’ together by encouraging each other and also by reaching out to impact others which are not part of our community. As our community grows numerically it is our desire to increase the number of lifeboats and to structure community life within the context of these groups.
